DIY: Homemade Coffee Scrub for Your First Days of Beard Growth

Do you feel the dryness on your skin after you shave? Your razor could be the culprit. The more you shave, the more irritated your skin will be. BUT exfoliating regularly surely makes all the difference. Doing so will get rid of the dead skin cells, prevent clogged up pores, and prevent ingrown hair. It also gives you the bang for your buck for our beard oils to be better absorbed by your skin.

Exfoliation is a MUST. Period. Most especially when you’re in the early stages of growing out your beard.

If you’re thinking that this is the part where I introduce you to some pricey, high-end exfoliation product, you’re wrong. What you need is already in your kitchen!

All you need are three ingredients:

  • 1 ½ tbsp of olive oil

  • 1 ½ tbsp of coffee (fresh works best but dry used grounds work fine too)

  • 1 tbsp of honey

Put all ingredients in a bowl and mix. Mix until it’s a paste-like consistency. Apply to your face and beard, and massage gently in a circular motion. Leave it on for 5 minutes. Afterwards, wash it off with warm water.

And voila - fresh, healthy skin! Now you’re ready to grow that beard. Exfoliate once or twice a week, and keep at it!
